Nota bene (/ˈnoʊtə ˈbɛneɪ/, /ˈnoʊtə ˈbɛni/ or /ˈnoʊtə ˈbiːni/; plural form notate bene) is a Latin phrase meaning 'note well'. (Can one actually understand the pronunciation of the words by reading ˈnoʊtə ˈbɛneɪ/, /ˈnoʊtə ˈbɛni/ or /ˈnoʊtə ˈbiːni ? Because I 100%, can't.)
As a foray into the world of stationery, I wanted to start with the basics. The notebook, or as my mum used to call them, jotters. Little books, big enough to hold your to- do lists and daily musings, but small enough to carry... anywhere.
I wanted to create a home for the doodles that one does while they're talking on the phone, and a place for those quick notes that you make while perusing the stalls of the market.
I didn't want the restricting horizontal lines printed across the pages, but light dot grids and lined grids that would allow for the flow of the hand. (aka. wild scribbles)
*** Back story
I am also a beginner bookbinder, and have made quite a number of hand bound books, mainly using coptic binding. To be honest, I think the N.B notebooks came about because all of the recipients of my books refused to actually write in them. Their excuses... "It's too pretty!" or " No! I don't want to spoil it with my terrible handwriting!"
WELL NOT ANYMORE!
These notebooks are sturdy, staple bound, paper back books. One can't possibly feel guilty about using these!
So without further ado...

The bullet grid is perfect for both list making and quick sketches... like this blue footed booby.
Also, in order to upgrade from my beginner bookbinder's status, to MASTER... I recently got accepted to study my Masters in Book and Paper Conservation. If you'd like to help me ... level up... or are just curious, head on over to my Go Fund Me page, and I'll be forever thankful!
