A Global View showcases five examples of textile pieces that were acquisitioned by the Art Institute’s Department of Textiles, during the 2012 to 2016 period. Each piece is abstractly silk screen printed onto a variety of fabrics, some with additional embroidery and then hand bound in the Japanese style. A clamshell box was constructed to comfortably house these books. The overall intention of A Global View, was to be offered as one of the exhibition’s gift items.
